Livingston Place at Southern Avenue is on track to finish construction in March 2021! This year, our team at Soto has been working with Hamel Builders to deliver the first affordable assisted living community in Ward 8, which broke ground on November 21, 2019. The 152-unit community includes over 15,000 square feet of diverse amenity spaces, a commercial kitchen which serves three meals a day, and an exterior landscaped courtyard.
Currently, the ground floor brick work is complete, and the construction team is finalizing the fiber-cement exterior wall assembly on the residential floors with all windows in place. At-grade bioretention facilities are being completed and prepped for infill. Inside the units, flooring, drywall, kitchen cabinets and unit doors are being installed in phases, starting on the lower floors. After the holidays, the focus will shift to interior common areas, final coordination of MEP systems and the last phases of site-work/landscape. Along with Dantes Partners and Gilbane Development Co., our team at Soto is looking forward to the grand-opening in late Spring 2021!

A Small Scale Project with a Large Community Impact Recently at Soto, our design team has been working on a project that looks a bit different than our typical portfolio: a civic renovation project that has been driven by students who are determined to showcase their school spirit.
According to Amber, she is hopeful for our future as more architects are discovering the issues our environment is facing while learning how to be a part of the solution. At Soto Architecture & Urban Design, we are committed to furthering sustainability, and we value the role it plays in our profession, which is why we encourage our team members and peers to be a part of this conversation.
