Complimenting the recently rennovated Oxford Apartments, also designed by Soto Architecture and Urban Design, the Shops at Oxford provide much needed retail space in Oxon Hill, Maryland. The 16,000 square foot project consists of 8 retail units, half of which are already occupied. Located on Oxon Hill Road, this communal amenity attracts both pedestrians and visitors, complimented with a quiet public thoroughfare for outdoor seating for people to gather, relax, and enjoy the retail spaces.

The two retail buildings are quite simple in form, yet have been carefully and thoughtfully designed to connect the Shops to the Oxford Apartments, through material and color selection and walkable connections. This small, walkable community compliments the apartment building, while respecting the existing suburban, auto-centric culture of the neighborhoods surrounding it.
